Prior to joining SCALE Healthcare, John worked as an associate health policy consultant with Avalere advising life sciences clients about healthcare market reforms related to drug pricing, Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA coverage, health technology assessment, and patient-centered value frameworks.  While at Avalere, John authored policy briefs on patient-centered outcomes research, ICER drug assessment reports, health equity in HIV prevention, and Medicare Payment and Access Commission meetings. He also regularly presented to clients on health policy research findings and updates from CMS, FDA, and state legislatures.

While completing his MPH at the Colorado School of Public Health, John worked with the National Conference of State legislatures tracking state drug pricing legislation and writing briefs on pharmaceutical policy including a report on alternative payment models in Medicaid. Before that, John supported the nonprofit organization Komen Colorado with state-level policy advocacy on behalf of disadvantaged populations and research on the disease burden of breast cancer.

John has a BS in biopsychology from Tufts University.
